Webelos visit gas plant
Monticello’s precocious Webelo Boy Scouts recently took an educational tour of the massive gas plant located in Lisbon Valley.
Not visible from the highway, the size and scope of the operation is impressive. Over 24,000,000 cubic feet of gas per day is processed and refined into many energy sources, including liquid propane and butane.
Most of the finished product leaves the County via pipeline, but a steady stream of propane trucks are also in evidence.
As impressive as it all was, this crowd favored most what happens when a hotdog or a rose is dipped into liquid nitrogen at 450 degrees below zero and then dropped on a concrete floor.
For further details, ask any of these educated veterans.
