Tim Young was born and raised in Monticello and moved back nearly five years ago when he purchased San Juan Pharmacy.
Young credits many of the opportunities he has had in his life to the good influences and experience he had growing up in Monticello. 
Young said he has a lot to offer as a councilman, with a unique perspective and a good mind for what is and is not successful.
Young said his focus for the council is “Vision and Experience”.  Young added that Monticello needs to look down the road and determine what their vision is for the community and then work to find ways to get there.
Young feels it is important for the vision to fit the entire city and not just councilmen. He expressed his feeling that people want to have a good experience with whatever they have and suggested the city should take that approach to help the citizens, visitors, businesses, children and every person that is in the community to have a good experience.  
“I’d like to create a vision for the town... not just a vision of a few people but a vision of everybody,” said Young.
