Take idea from the movie industry

Dear Editor:

Per Terri Winder’s column: Any suggestions? in the February 27 SJR, I have one.

Take from the movie industry and rate the library books by age appropriate the same way movies are rated. For those over a certain rating (parents decide what that rating is) children need a letter from their parent allowing them to read the book. That way, books aren’t “banned” and parents have control over what they believe is age appropriate reading.

However, I would not carry this system over to school textbooks. The selection of classroom textbooks should be under the direction of the school board.
