Whitehorse basketball teams sweep final Battle of the Drum

Whitehorse basketball closed out the regular season winning the Battle of the Drum and going on a road trip.
On February 5 the Whitehorse girls team beat Monument Valley 51-31 and secured the region 19 title outright.
In the game Whitehorse was led by Keiarra Martin who finished with 17 points. Teammates Heidi Clark and Lamyia Benally scored 14 and 11 respectively. Hannah Clark (5), Alyssa Eltsosie (2) and Lakyara Begay (2) also contributed to the Raiders score.
In the boys matchup the Raiders earned a 93-36 win over the Cougars.
Kalin Tohonnie, Dominic Dance, and Elam Etsitty all scored 17 points in the win. Hyatt Thomas and Adam Joe each had 11 points. Tristan Black scored nine, Aiden Hamm scored five, Brayden John had four and Caiden Lansing scored two.
The Whitehorse teams went on a road trip to close out their regular season. The Raiders played at Piute on February 7 and at Bryce Valley on February 8.
Against Piute the girls earned a convincing 51-37 win. Benally led scoring with 17 points while Martin had 13 and Heidi Clark scored 12. Begay scored four, Eltsosie and Hannah Clark had two and Kaleigh Chee had one point.
The girls earned another victory defeating Bryce Valley 48-34. Hannah Clark led all scorers with 14 points, while Martin had 13. Heidi Clark scored six while Benally and Eltsosie each had four points. Chee scored three with Begay and Mateja Joe each scoring two in the win.
The Raider boys teams dropped both games, falling to Piute 75-38 and Bryce Valley 86-38.
