San Juan girls wrestling takes fifth in Bloomfield

The San Juan High School girls wrestling team continued their inaugural season this past Saturday, December 14 at the Bloomfield Invitational in Bloomfield, NM. Seven of the nine wrestlers were in action.
The Lady Broncos finished fifth out of nine teams, scoring 101 team points. Individually, two of the girls came home with medals.
Kheirra Keith, a freshman, won her first three matches of the day by fall, earning her way into the championship bracket. She came home with a solid fourth-place finish.
Morgan Kaytso, a sophomore, won her first three matches of the day, also by fall. Kaytso ended up in third place in her weight category. She concluded the day as the highest placer for the Lady Broncos.
Saylor Dandy, a junior, continued her impressive season with a solid fifth-place finish, winning matches by fall and 3-0 decision. Saraeya Mills, a sophomore, took fifth place with all her wins coming by fall.
Other girls competing in the tournament were sophomore Lucelia Benally who placed seventh, freshman Lyric Williams who placed tenth, and freshman Hannah Todachinnie who saw her first action of the year after being injured for the first part of the season. She placed 12th.
The girls team also consists of junior Daylight Blackhorse and junior Inez Tsosie, who did not compete this weekend.
The San Juan girls team wrestled their first home dual of the season on Tuesday, December 17 against Monument Valley, AZ. Results were too late for the San Juan Record press deadline.
