San Juan girls soccer team looks to rebound from tough stretch

It has been a tough September so far for the San Juan High School girls soccer team. They did open the month with a nice 5-1 win over South Sevier, but since then they’ve lost three games in a row, dropping to 5-7 on the season.
The Lady Broncos fell 2-0 at Millard on September 3. A week later, on Thursday, September 10 the team headed to Moab where they suffered a tough 5-1 loss to the 2A #3 Grand County Lady Red Devils.
Brooklyn Lameman scored the goal for San Juan and Colee Crofts made 16 saves in the loss.
This past Thursday, September 17 the team hosted #6 Beaver and held a 1-0 advantage at halftime. But the Lady Beavers scored two goals in the second half to hand San Juan their third straight loss.
Lameman was the Lady Broncos’ goal scorer once again and Crofts made an astounding 24 saves.
San Juan is ranked 11th in the Utah 2A standings and is gearing up for some key games against region opponents in the coming days.
This week they’ll travel to take on #18 Gunnison Valley on Tuesday, September 22 and return home to host #16 South Sevier on Thursday, September 24. The Lady Broncos beat both of those teams in their first matchups this season.
On Tuesday, September 29 San Juan will rematch #10 Millard in Blanding before heading back out on the road to face #13 Parowan and #7 Enterprise Friday and Saturday, October 2-3.
The girls will close out their regular season with a rematch against rival Grand County in Blanding on Tuesday, October 6.
