The San Juan High School girls soccer team split Region 18 matches this past week on the road, beating South Sevier on September 1 but suffering a loss at Millard on September 3.
Against South Sevier the Lady Broncos had a battle in the first half when both teams scored a goal. But they got started quickly in the second half, scoring four goals to win going away 5-1.
Brooklyn Lameman scored two goals in the victory with Jaynie McNaughtan, Kloe Jones, and Ari Adams all adding one apiece. Goalkeeper Colee Crofts stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced.
Just two days after they played in Monroe San Juan hit the road again to travel west and take on the Millard Lady Eagles.
The Lady Broncos were unable to find the back of the net in the game, suffering a 2-0 loss. Despite the lack of goal support, Colee Crofts still managed to stop 12 of the 14 shots she faced on the day.
San Juan is right at .500 on the season with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-3 spot in Region 18 play. They’ll try to get back in the win column with one game this week.
On Thursday, September 10 they’ll make their third road trip in a row, but thankfully this time it’s a short one. They’ll head up to Moab to take on the rival Grand County Lady Red Devils.
Coming into the week Grand County had won three games in a row, including back-to-back blowout wins over Millard and South Sevier. They were 5-3 overall and 4-1 in region play.
