Coach Jay Jones: “Wyatt is very deserving of being selected as part of the All-State team for soccer. He was amazing this year as our varsity goalie with 248 saves and one shutout. For the past few years, Wyatt worked to become better at his position and it showed this year.
“He also helped his team with his positive attitude and leadership. Many times I would see him mentoring and coaching his underclassman goalkeeper. He not only worked hard to improve himself, but he helped others get better as well.
“One attribute Wyatt showed throughout his career is resiliency. In his sophomore and junior seasons, he wasn’t our main varsity goalkeeper and he didn’t get a lot of varsity play. Some athletes would have gotten discouraged and maybe even given up in this situation, but Wyatt didn’t.
“He always showed up and continued to work to get better. Many of our wins this year came in part due to that dedication. Wyatt has great things ahead of him and with his work ethic and dedication he will go far. We were lucky to have him on our team.”
