Five San Juan County basketball teams on to the 1A state tournament

Five San Juan County teams are headed to the 1A state basketball tournament February 26-March 1 in Richfield Utah.
The top seed among local teams are the #5 seed Whitehorse girls basketball team.
The Raiders enter the tournament with a 15-4 record. The Raiders won their first Region 19 title in 20 years going undefeated in region play.
The lady Raiders start the tournament February 26 at 11:30 am at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield against #12 seed Wendover. The winner will play the next day at 5:30 pm, with the loser going to consolation play at 11:30 am.
Two San Juan County teams earned the #8 seed with the Monument Valley girls and Monticello boys both playing against the #9 seeds both from Piute.
The Monticello boys team enters the tournament with a 13-8 record and were runner-ups in Region 19. The Bucks play at 2:30 pm at Richfield High against Piute on February 26. The winner of that game will play the next day at 7:00 with the loser playing at 2:30.
The Monument Valley girls basketball team entered the tournament with a 12-9 record and were runners-up in Region 19 play.
The Cougars play at 2:30 pm at the Sevier Valley Center against Piute on February 26.
The winner of that game will play the next day at 4:00 with the loser playing at 10:00 am
The Whitehorse Raiders boys basketball team earned the #12 seed at the state tournament.
The Raiders enter the tournament with an 11-11 record and finished 3rd in Region 19.
Whitehorse boys start play at Richfield High on February 26 at 11:30 am against #5 seed Tabiona. The winner will play the next day at 8:30 pm with the loser playing at 1:00.
The Monticello girls basketball team is the #16 seed with a 5-18 record and were 3rd in Region 19 play.
The Bucks play the #1 seed Rich on February 26 at 1:00 pm. The winner will play the next day at 4:00 with the loser playing at 10:00 am.
