Head Coach Mike Bowers: “Madden Perkins will always hold a special place in my heart. One month prior to her junior season, I asked Madden to change positions from outfield to catcher. During that month she worked daily to become an exceptional catcher. At the end of the year, she was honored as an All-State catcher.
“This position requires so many changes and dedication. Madden killed it with hard work and a desire to improve. I couldn’t have been more proud. Before switching to catcher, she was an outfielder and started all four years for San Juan.
“Madden is amazing and her work ethic and dedication was rewarded with a scholarship to play softball for Western Nebraska Community College.”
