Buckaroo wrestlers grab second place in Price

The Monticello Buckaroo wrestlers brought home a second-place team trophy from the Dave Smith Memorial tournament in Price this past Friday and Saturday, December 9-10.
The Buckaroos won duals against Juan Diego, Telos, Carbon 2, and American Fork, earning 233 points in the second-place finish.
Treydon Harris and Javlin Robison both went 5-0 and won all their matches by fall. Robison was also honored as the tournament’s outstanding wrestler for his efforts.
Tavon Black finished with only one loss, earning two wins with one fall for Monticello. Chandler Henderson was 3-2 on the weekend with two wins by fall and an 11-2 major decision win.
Ronnie Harris earned three wins with two by fall, followed by Landon Shumway with two wins by fall. Camren Carpenter also earned a win by fall for the Buckaroos.
Overall, Treydon Harris finished fourth for most pins in the least amount of time, with five in 5:53. Robison finished eighth in that department with five falls in 11:02.
This weekend the Buckaroos will travel to Manti for the annual Holiday Classic Friday and Saturday, December 16-17.
