Head Coach Sheila Wells: “Our only senior, Shayla was a great example and really led the way this season. She grew into her role as a leader and stepped up during the times we really needed her. Shayla worked hard this fall, improved in all aspects of the game, and was a lot of fun to watch. Although she often had an unassuming attitude on the court, her stats say otherwise. Her positive attitude on and off the court and her contagious smile will take her far. We are going to miss her on the court next year.”

Head Coach Sheila Wells: “Hannah is quiet but mighty! Being a setter is a very thankless job and we are thrilled that she was recognized this year. Hannah has great court sense and is able to better each ball that comes her way, making her an outstanding setter. She definitely puts all her effort on the court and does her best to put her team in a position to succeed. Her dedication to the team shines through in her willingness to stay after practice to help teammates work on their hitting. Hannah stepped up to the many challenges we threw at her and stepped out of her comfort zone. We can’t wait to see what she does this upcoming fall in all areas of the game.”

Head Coach Derica Valdez: “Kadence is a one-of-a-kind student athlete. She is always smiling and encouraging the younger girls on the team to do their best and to never give up. Kadence is humble on an off the court and she will accomplish whatever she puts her mind to. The Lady Raiders family was very proud to have her this year and she had a very big impact on the team as a middle hitter and captain. The Lady Raiders coaching staff will miss Kadence dearly next year, and we wish her the best. Congratulations, Kadence, on receiving a 1A All-State Honorable Mention. You deserve this.”

Head Coach Shelby Eldredge: “I honestly can’t say enough good things about Jaci. She is a positive leader, great player, and a supportive team captain. Jaci is one who leads on and off the court. She lifted during the offseason, helped organize pictures, helped order uniforms, and provided constant reminders and support to all the team. She played hard in practice and encouraged all the girls from the freshman to the seniors to have fun and play your best. Jaci is a great middle blocker and all-around player. Unfortunately her season was cut short when she suffered a fractured ankle during the State play-in game. But she continued to build the team with positive encouragement and still attended every practice on her scooter. As a coach, I knew this was not easy for her to do and speaks volumes of her character. Jaci is also a member of the Student Council and is supportive of the San Juan High student body. SJH loves Jaci and we will really miss her. Great job, Jaci. To us you were MVP!”

Head Coach Sheila Wells: “Alise is a natural athlete and performs with seemingly little effort, but don’t let that fool you. She works hard to perfect her game and make it look easy. Her hard work and effort paid off this season as she dominated at the net in both hitting and blocking as well as becoming a great defensive player. Her growth as a player can be attributed to her passion to improve and to her desire to implement the new techniques and plays that were introduced this season. We can’t wait to watch her shine next year.”

Head Coach Sheila Wells: “Taylor is one of the most versatile players we have seen here in Monticello. She can do anything and everything she is asked from hitting to blocking to serving to setting to digging. Taylor’s growth in all of these areas this fall was impressive and only surpassed by the confidence we all had in her as she pulled back to serve receive. She has a passion for the game like none other which shows in the sweat, blood, and heart she pours out in every game and practice. She works hard and keeps us laughing too. We are excited to see her excel this upcoming season.”
