The San Juan Record Newspapers Rock 10K race will be held October 13

San Juan Record’s annual 10K race is set.
Get your running shoes (or your walking shoes) ready for the sixth annual San Juan Record Newspapers Rock 10K race on Saturday, October 13.
The race begins at 10 a.m. and will wind its way through spectacular Indian Creek Canyon in the height of the fall colors. The course begins at Newspaper Rock and finishes 6.2 breathtaking miles later, near the Dugout Ranch at the mouth of the canyon.
The race fee is $20. For an additional $10, you can buy a long sleeve shirt.
There will be a host of awards in various racing categories, giving the fastest and even many of the slowest a chance to win an award.
Our in-house designer, Andrea Montgomery, has completed a great design for the shirts and awards that will be the envy of your running friends.
The course is ideal for a 10K race, with a gentle downward slope and constantly turning road in front of the racers. The fall colors of the cottonwood trees should be stunning.
The race is focused on local runners and walkers who can culminate a summer of beautiful weather with a breathtaking race.
The race is not possible without the assistance of the City of Monticello, San Juan County Visitor Services, UDOT, UHP and a large number of other groups and volunteers.

You can tell a lot about a town by the signs that are placed in its neighborhoods. It appears as if the two entities that have dominated Monticello yards signs for months, Countywide Realty and Lex Realty, are being challenged by two newcomers, Gail Johnson and Bruce Adams.
