It didn’t take long for the Lady Broncos to seize control of the game against the Monticello Lady Bucks, on Dec. 18.
The feisty Bucks played with great effort throughout the game, but in the end were no match for the Broncos ,who cruised to an 86-41 win.
Early on, San Juan came out hot on both ends of the court, jumping out to a 20-point lead, 26-6.
Down big early, Monticello didn’t quit but kept working harder, and their efforts were noticeable as they doubled their offensive output from the first quarter by scoring 13 second quarter points.
Unfortunately for the Bucks, the Broncos stayed red hot offensively, pouring in 25 points to take a 51-19 lead at the half.
The third quarter saw more of the same action, as San Juan once again outpaced Monticello, this time 19-12 to take a 70-31 lead into the final quarter.
With the game out of reach, the Bucks continued to battle and play hard, resulting in the closest quarter of scoring on the night, but the Broncos once again claimed the upper hand of a 16-10 quarter.
The 86-41 final moved San Juan to 5-4 on the season as Monticello fell to 2-6.
