Norman Lameman ~ San Juan County Commission District 3
Hello, friends and relatives. My name is Norman Lameman. As a lifelong resident of Utah, I am deeply fortunate to make my home in San Juan County, Utah, where my family and I are rooted.
Beyond my commitment to our local community, I serve as an educator at Navajo Technical University, work as a licensed professional contractor, and founded the non-profit organization C 4Ever Green to drive local initiatives.
San Juan County faces significant economic and infrastructural challenges, and it urgently needs strong, dedicated representation to build a sustainable, resilient economy. Despite being rich in local energy and natural resources, many of our residents are forced to commute outside the area for work. It is crucial that we retain these valuable resources and invest directly in our workforce—such as through local hiring, skills training, and trade programs—to keep opportunities local and ensure a brighter, more prosperous future for our entire community.
In today's complex political climate, building strong, meaningful, and enduring relationships with diverse communities across San Juan County is essential for the long-term vitality, unity, and health of our region. I am dedicated to advocating for comprehensive public initiatives that promote thorough civic education, ensuring every resident is fully aware of both their constitutional rights and their civic obligations. Furthermore, I support responsible fiscal governance aimed at curbing government inefficiency and reducing spending on non-essential services, thereby redirecting resources toward vital infrastructure and enhancing the overall security and safety of our community.
Extractive activities have severely impacted our local environment, contaminating our air and polluting critical water sources, which creates serious health and environmental hazards for our communities. To address these challenges effectively, we must establish dedicated, ongoing forums for direct collaboration and dialogue. Bringing together tribal leaders, county commissioners, and state representatives will allow us to unify our efforts, amplify community concerns, and advocate for meaningful protections and policy changes.
San Juan County's canyons, mesas, and mountains hold profound cultural, historical, and spiritual value. These lands are not merely scenic landscapes; they are living testaments to our shared heritage and identity. I am deeply dedicated to protecting and preserving our cultural resources, ensuring that sacred sites, sacred spaces, and historical landmarks remain safeguarded for generations to come.
At the same time, we must foster and support sustainable economic development that directly benefits our local community, resident workforce, and small businesses rather than prioritizing the interests of out-of-state corporations. By promoting responsible stewardship, local investment, and balanced growth, we can create lasting financial security without sacrificing our environment or values.
Together, we can build a thriving local economy, protect our ancestral lands, and ensure a bright, prosperous future for our children and families. Vote for me to give San Juan County a strong, effective, and unwavering voice!
