Wade Allen Hancock September 17, 1959 ~ March 28, 2026
Wade Allen Hancock passed from this life on March 28, 2026, and now watches over those he loves. He was born on September 17, 1959.
Wade was the kind of man you do not come across often, a gentle giant with a big heart, steady hands, and a quiet way of making everyone around him feel cared for.
He spent 44 dedicated years working at the mill, sharing his knowledge, mentoring others, and leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Even with all he gave, he somehow still had more wisdom tucked away, just another reminder of how much he carried within him.
At home, Wade’s world revolved around his family. His children and grandchildren were truly the light of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than watching them grow, succeed, and chase their passions.
He was incredibly proud of his grandson Connor for joining the Army National Guard and serving his country, it meant everything to him.
And when his “little boss” Camber took up pitching softball, you would have thought Wade had just won the lottery. In fact, after Camber hit three home runs in Vernal one Tuesday, we are pretty sure he had the best seat in the house, smiling down on her.
Wade cherished his time with all his grandchildren. Xavier and Evalyn spent many years growing up close to home, creating memories that will never fade.
Wade was especially proud of Xavier for finishing high school, working alongside him at the mill for a summer, and later graduating from Wyotech as a diesel mechanic. That was a true Gramps moment.
And Evalyn’s passion for photography was something Wade absolutely loved, he could not stop talking about how talented she was.
Family vacations were another highlight of Wade’s life, trips to California, Florida, and Hawaii filled with laughter, stories, and moments that will be treasured forever. Those memories are stitched into the fabric of this family, just like Wade himself.
Wade also gave so much to his community, always willing to lend a hand, share advice, or simply be there when someone needed him.
Together with his beloved wife Dess, they served others beyond measure. Their love, generosity, and example will not be forgotten.
Above all, Wade was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. He was steady, kind, and full of quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep love, and unforgettable memories.
He will be deeply missed by all, but, especially by his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, who meant everything to him.
Wade is preceded in death by his parents Dee Curtis and Dorothy Lee Hancock.
He is survived by his wife Modessa, and his children Nathan Wade (Devin), Nina Eva, and Deedra Nicole, grandkids Connor Wade, Xavier Allen, Evalyn, and Camber D, dogs Taz and Bo, grand dogs Lewis and Raven, brother Steve, and sister Sherri.
If he could say one more thing, it would probably be this:
“Please watch over my wife, my kids, and my grandkids… and just know I’ll always be right there with you.”
