Virginia Hunt

May 12, 1941 ~ October 6, 2014
Virginia Hunt, 73, passed away in Peoria, AZ October 6, 2014, after a long illness. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT May 12, 1941, to Benjamin and Ula Black Hunt, their third child and first daughter. 
Virginia grew up in Blanding, UT, where the family moved when she was five years old, just days prior to her father’s death. Favorite childhood memories were of playing in her grandfather’s flour mill. 
She attended Blanding Elementary and San Juan High School. She married Bill McBrayer July 10, 1959 in Blanding and they made their first home there. Over the years, they lived in various places in New Mexico, where they raised their family.  
Virginia’s primary occupation was nursing. She became a Registered Nurse in 1976 and earned a Master’s Degree in business. She opened her own home health care business and loved to care for the elderly.
She was blessed with many opportunities for travel and adventure.  She loved life, challenges, and learning new things.  
She was highly motivated and excelled at whatever she put her hand to. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, organizer. Her home was always immaculate. She used her nursing skills to care for many family members over the years  and her skills with green chili to create many a delightful New Mexican dish for her Utah family members.  She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bruce Hunt, former husband Bill McBrayer, sister-in-law Aleda Hunt, and beloved grandparents Edson and Addie Black.
She is survived by siblings Curtis Hunt of Ucolo, Marlene Cummings (Clay) of Fillmore, Lorraine James (Bob) of Farmington NM, Loretta Powell (Abe) of Heber City, Rhea Jeppson (Richard) of Melbourne Beach, FL, April Stevens (Chris), and Shaye Stevens (Michelle) both of Austin, TX. 
Also survived by daughters Stephanie Hawkins of Glendale, AZ and Brecken McBrayer of Austin, six grandchildren, a great-grandson, as well as many beloved family members, friends and caretakers.
She will be missed greatly but those left behind celebrate the sweet reunion she now enjoys with loved ones who have passed on.
Funeral services for Virginia were held October 18, 2014 in Fillmore, UT. Interment at the Fillmore City Cemetery.
