Veronica Lynn Montano

December 20, 1969 ~ October 26, 2019

Veronica Lynn Montano was born December 20, 1969. She was her mother Jennie’s Christmas present. She graduated from this life Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the hospital in Grand Junction, CO.

The youngest of eight children, they lived in a two-bedroom house right across from Muhlestein Greenhouses. They moved into their new house on 400 South where they all grew up. When Jennie had Veronica she had someone to hang with because there was a house full of boys: Junior, Andy, and Felix, so Mom was happy to have a daughter again. Veronica graduated from Monticello High School in 1988.

She enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie and other TV Shows. Later in life she attended the LDS church and had other friends. Her friends included Tammy Kopta, Karen Wells, and other people in Monticello.

Veronica was a BIG fan of the rock band Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks. Her brother Randy gave her an eight-track tape of Fleetwood Mac and she and her brothers enjoyed playing all kinds of music on the console with an eight-track player. Later, Veronica was able to go to live concerts of Fleetwood Mac and Pat Benatar.

The family moved to Farmington, NM; Dove Creek, CO; and the last place was Flagstaff, AZ where Veronica took care of an elderly woman named Lola. She had the knowledge and understanding of taking care of another person including her mother.

Her last days she lived with Karen Wells. She grew out of her world and accepted the advanced cancer she had. Her spirit was enlarged as she grew and matured so quickly. We were all moved by the depth of her spirit and courage.

Funeral services are Thursday, October 31 at 11 a.m. in Monticello.
