Todd Raymond Moon December 25, 1962 ~ October 31, 2022

Todd Raymond Moon was born December 25, 1962 in Salt Lake City, UT and passed away October 31, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK following a heart attack and stroke.
Todd is the son of Raymond Heber Moon (deceased) and Donna Diane Watson. His siblings are Diana (Johnson), Robert and Colleen (Sorensen).
Todd’s early years were spent living in Salt Lake City, Yuma, Tempe, Tucson and Mesa. In 1981, he received his Eagle Scout rank.
Todd graduated from Mountain View High School in Mesa and also graduated from Mesa Community College and Arizona State University with his bachelors in communications, and was nearly complete with his masters in criminal justice.
He was ordained to the office of an Elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Alabama Burmingham Mission.
In 1987, he met the love of his life, Cherie Black the daughter of Leo H. Black and Wilma Viva Galbreath. Todd and Cherie were married in the Mesa Temple on October 16, 1987.
Over the next 35 years, they built a beautiful life together raising their two sons, Jeremiah Todd Moon and Joshua Raymond Moon.
While most of Todd’s passion would often go towards his “out-of-this-world” Halloween and Christmas yard displays, the rest of the year he could be found putting his whole heart towards serving his community, friends and family through his years with EMS as a Firefighter and EMT.
His efforts will not be forgotten with countless hours of service with Toys for Tots, Moab Animal Rescue, helping with Cherie’s daycare and even coordinating and facilitating the positive use of CBD treatment options with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which resulted with meetings with the general authorities and even the Prophet.
Todd’s love for his family and community didn’t stop there. He and Cherie would constantly find ways to help and contribute to the scouting program, shaping and molding the youth of the community in so many ways.
When it came to helping those in need, Todd was often the first to arrive and the last to leave.
As a seasoned and devoted firefighter, another way of extending his reach to current and future generations was to dedicate his time to training for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy, traveling all across the state training other firefighters.
All his life, Todd strived to blaze new trails, to educate others and to share the beauties that so many of us would pass right by.
Even though we will miss his updates and photos of storms and other events, he will have his hands full as he reports for duty for his new divine calling.
Thank you for the moments we’ve shared and the strength you’ve given us through the years.
For now, we are Code 4 (all safe and scene is secure) on our end and look forward to that day we will see you again.
A special thanks to those who had a part in helping take care of Todd’s medical needs, friends that helped Jeremiah get out to be with Todd and all the prayers and love shone to the family through these hard times. Your kindness and love does not go unnoticed.
Todd’s services are November 8 at the Blanding Stake Center.  Viewing will be held at 10 am, followed by the funeral at 11 am and the graveside at Noon.
