Timothy Glen Workman August 21, 1970 ~ March 22, 2026
Timothy Glen Workman (August 21, 1970 - March 22, 2026) of Norwood, CO was born in Montrose, Colorado and raised in Uravan, CO and Blanding, Utah to parents Rodney and Betty Lou (née Wilson) Workman with his three brothers Stephen, Corey, and Jason.
Tim graduated in 1988 as Valedictorian at San Juan H.S. and was active in sports. He received an appointment to United States Military Academy West Point, took time off for his LDS mission and served two years in Finland.
He returned and graduated from the military academy in 1994. After he graduated West Point he married Joan Marie Schrantz on Sept 9th, 1994 and they had 4 children. He then served 5 years active duty in the Army and in the Bosnia Conflict. He was honorably discharged from the Army, became a DEA Agent in Texas and remained in military reserve service in the rank of Captain and did contractual employment for the US Government in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Haiti. He moved his family to New Jersey where he continued his employment with the Manhattan DEA.
Tim eventually tired of the city and moved his family back to Colorado and bought a small dry cleaning and laundry business in Norwood where the family has deep ancestral roots in the area. He was able to buy land and built a home.
He is survived by his wife Joan Marie (née Schrantz) and his four children Cheyenne, Tristan, Tanner, and Harley; his mother Betty Lou; brothers Stephen (and spouse Philip) and Corey (and spouse Sarah with their children India, Reagan, Presley, Dawson, Thomas, Tarah, Colt, and Killian); sister-in-law Stacey and nephew Jax.
He is predeceased by his brother Jason and father Rodney.
Family and close friends honored Tim in a small gathering to send him off as he wanted; with full military honors and a Viking Warrior style pyre full of remembrances.
He was steadfast in support of his family and will be remembered forever. Thank you to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard for performing the military honors and everyone for the love and support they have shown the family.
In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been created to provide support to the family for their sudden, unexpected loss.
