Ted Curtis Bronson

August 7, 1925 ~ July 11, 2019
Ted Curtis Bronson, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Canyonlands Care Center, in Moab, UT.
He was born August 7, 1925 in Bluff, UT to Julius C. and Mary J. Bronson.
He grew up in Monticello, UT and graduated from Monticello High School in 1943.
Directly he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as part of the CB’s (Construction Battalion) on Manus Island, which is part of the Manus Province in northern Papua, New Guinea and is the largest of the Admiralty Islands.
Upon returning home he married Margaret Robson on September 20, 1946. They settled in Monticello where they raised two boys, Michael and David.
Ted got a job with the Department of Energy, which required the family to move for a few years to a trailer camp near White Canyon where Ted ran the uranium sampling plant.
Upon returning to Monticello, Ted worked for the San Juan County Road Department, where he was a heavy equipment operator running a Motor Grader. He retired after 28 years.
Ted, along with his beloved wife Margaret, enjoyed an active life that included spending time with good friends skiing, golfing, hiking, jeeping, and camping.
Ted was a private person who had a great sense of humor and a friendly greeting for all he met.
Ted is survived by his youngest son David, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret and his oldest son Michael.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at the Monticello Cemetery. Casual wear is encouraged.
