Susan Black Magleby

January 21, 1960 ~ March 24, 2009

Susan Black Magleby, 49, passed away March 24, 2009 in Monroe, surrounded by her loving husband and children. She has been called to heaven to be reunited with her Dad, horse and dogs.

Born January 21, 1960 in Monticello, UT to Calvin F. and Carolyn M. Merz Black. Married Shirwin Shumway, later divorced. Married Devin Magleby on September 26, 1987 in Elsinore, UT.

Susan was an avid hunter, animal lover, people lover and was always cooking, sharing her passion with others. She never forgot those she associated with professionally or everyday acquaintances.

She was a “true blue” fan of the Utah Jazz. If we had three terms to describe Susan, she was cheerful, all-weathered and never short to task. We miss her dearly and love her always.

She is survived by her husband Devin, of Monroe; children Luke Shumway, of Blanding; Zane (Tracy) Shumway and Tana Shumway, both of Monroe; mother Carolyn Black of Blanding; grandchildren Dominic and Jersi; siblings Laurie (Kerby) Black, of Las Vegas, NV; “Buddy” Alan (Luana) Black, Callie (Mike) Christensen and Merri (Shane) Shumway, all of Blanding; and Danny (Brandee) Black, of Springville.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services were March 27, 2009. Interment in the Monroe Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.maglebymortuary.com
