Seth Andrew Wright February 28, 1956 ~ February 5, 2023

Seth Andrew Wright passed from this life on February 5, 2023.
Seth was born in Monticello, UT on February 28, 1956, the first child of Seth Rigby and Della Fern Wright.
Called Andy during his years in Monticello, he switched to using Seth when he moved away from Monticello as a means of honoring his legacy.
He was educated in the Monticello schools, graduating from Monticello High School in 1974. He was an outstanding athlete, participating in basketball and football where he was named All-State.
Following high school, Seth attended BYU for a year and then was honored to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-Day Saints in the Argentina Rosario Mission from May of 1975 to May of 1977.
His time in Argentina was marked by political revolutions where armed battles took place in the streets surrounding where he lived, a fact not told to his mother until many years after he returned safely home.
Seth was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong belief in Jesus Christ and His gospel. He served in many positions including as a Bishopric counselor and on two High Councils.
His six plus years of service as an ordinance worker in the Phoenix Temple was the calling he cherished the most especially when he was able to assist temple patrons using the Spanish language he mastered during his missionary service.
In November of 1977, Seth married Janice Davis and two beloved daughters were born into this union: Aristella Melissa and Audrianna Fern.
Seth’s greatest joy in life was his family and he was very proud of his daughters and their successes and accomplishments.
Seth married Carol Lash on June 18, 1994 and the marriage was sealed in the Mesa Temple in January 1995.
He later welcomed his sons-in-law, David and Marcus with open arms and loved spending time with his family and especially with his granddaughter, Lennon Andrew.
Seth graduated with a BS Degree in Business from Boise State University in 1984. He later completed a MBA degree in Finance and Computer Science from the University of Phoenix in 2003.
Seth learned to work with his father on the family farm and ranch. He also was employed by Abajo Petroleum at the Monticello Husky station and made many longtime friends as a result.
He worked as the Operations Manager for Call Jewelers in Boise, ID and was later transferred to the Phoenix area as the business expanded. After Call Jewelers, he was employed in the Insurance Industry and as a Tax Specialist for the remainder of his life. He specialized in assisting people with their understanding of Medicare and the options available to best meet their medical care needs as they reached the Golden Years.
He loved deer hunting and hiking to Anasazi ruins and other sites in the great outdoors with his father and family. Singing along to the music of the 60s helped him pass the time he spent landscaping and working on improvement projects at his home in Glendale, Arizona. He raised gardens with watermelon, cantaloupe, bell peppers, and tomatoes. He was always learning. An avid reader, he enjoyed a good novel, but non-fiction was more often his choice. He loved to study the History of the United State and its leaders as well as military and law enforcement. Movies also were a favorite where more knowledge was gained.
Seth is survived by his wife, Carol, Daughters and Sons-in-Law Aristella Wright-Gavilanes (David) and Audrianna Patterson (Marcus), granddaughter Lennon Andrew Patterson, Mother Della Wright, and siblings Douglas (Lisa), Kathleen (David) Ketron, and Dianna (Burton) Black.
Preceded in death and welcomed home by his Father, Seth Rigby Wright, and many other ancestors. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to help combat Cancer.
Funeral was held in Glendale, Arizona on Friday, February 10. Grave dedication will be at the Monticello Cemetary on Tuesday, February 14 at 11:30 am.
