Rick Hammond Redd

Rick Hammond Redd was born in Monticello on February 13, 1962, to Keith Burns and Donna Hammond Redd. He died in Salt Lake City, UT, on August 21, 2012. Rick was the youngest of seven children.
He was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome as an infant. He lived most of his later life in various group homes in the Salt Lake City area.
He was very loved by his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and many caregivers, who regarded him as an angel.
By small and simple means are great things brought to pass. Rick’s simple life had great meaning to those who knew him. We are grateful for having been touched by his innocence and love.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanne Anthony.
He is survived by his siblings, K. Brent (Sherry) Redd, Paul (Chris) Redd, Curtis Redd, Donalee (Dan) Wolfe, and Cindy (Patrick) White.
A memorial service was held August 25, 2012, at the Monticello City Cemetery. A separate memorial service was held on August 26, 2012, in Sandy, UT for Rick’s devoted caregivers.
