Richard Earl Neff

November 22, 1940 ~ December 7, 2021
Richard Earl Neff, age 81, passed away December 7, 2021 due to a severe stroke.

Richard was born on November 22, 1940 in Yates Center, KS to Everett Neff and Isabel Saunier Neff. He moved to Mexican Hat in 1957 and graduated from Blanding High School in 1958.  

He loved running the San Juan River and exploring all of San Juan County.

He joined the USMC and served from 1960-1963. He was a machine gunner and was discharged CPL.

He moved to Salt Lake City where he met Norene Therning in 1966, and they were married on February 4, 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Norene; his three children, son Jess Neff, daughter Brooke Heddlesten, and son Linn Neff (companion Teresa Otineru); four grandchildren, Brittnie Heddlesten (fiancé Garrett Hackitt), Bailey Neff, Ashlinn Neff (fiancé Jonathan Chua), and Garett Gaines; and his sister, Norma Campbell, and brother, Don Neff.

Graveside services will be Monday, December 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. Services provided by San Juan Mortuary.
