Reverend Dan B. Treece

_January 16, 1931 ~ October 7, 2007_

The Reverend Dan B. Treece, 76, of Bluff Utah lost his long battle with Alzheimer’s at 6 a.m. on Sunday October 7, 2007 in Mancos, CO.

There will be an Episcopal graveside service at 3 p.m. on October 11, 2007 at the Pioneer Cemetery in Bluff, UT.

Dan was born in Alva, OK on January 16, 1931. He served in the Korean War with the Alva National Guard. Dan graduated from the University of Oklahoma, then entered the oil business for several years.

Dan attended Nashotah House Seminary in 1963 and was ordained as an Episcopal Priest in 1966. He established a ghetto mission at Walnut Grove in Oklahoma City and later served in Evergreen, Central City, Idaho Springs, Colorado, Bluff Utah at Saint Christopher’s Mission and then retired from the Priesthood after serving eight years in Breckenridge CO.

Dan and Jean retired to Bluff, UT in 1996.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years The Reverend Jean H. Treece, three daughters, Terry Treece, Sandra Treece Harnois and husband Larry, Mary Ann Braklow and husband Kevin, two sons, David Huff and wife Heidi, Kent Huff and wife Stuart and six grandchildren, Daniel Berndt, Sarah Huff, Lauren Huff, Derek Huff, Michael Braklow and Christopher Braklow.

The Pallbearers are Daniel Berndt, Michael Braklow, Kent Huff, Kevin Braklow, Larry Harnois and Gene Foushee.
