Pearl Maxine Black Johnson Frost

Pearl Maxine Black Johnson Frost passed away at the home of her daughter in Farmington, NM on August 31, 2009.
Maxine was born January 12, 1927 at Summit Point, UT, a daughter of James Burgess Parker Black and Mildred Pearl Lancaster Black.
Maxine married Forest A. Johnson on February 14, 1944 in Aztec, NM. Maxine joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in August of 1944 and soon after, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Maxine and Forest owned a farm at Horsehead and lived and worked together on the farm for over 51 years. Forest died June 2, 1995. In 1997, Maxine moved to Monticello, UT, where she met Melvin J. Frost. They were married on October 3, 1998. They enjoyed five and a half years together, traveling to many fun places and fulfilling a mission to Peru for the LDS Church.
Melvin passed away on June 26, 2004.
Maxine lived the next five years in Monticello, fulfilling many church callings and giving service to others. She loved gardening and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Maxine is survived by her sister Vivian McAlister of Arizona, brother Tom Black of Monticello, son Dan Johnson (Billie) of Blanding, daughter Gail Tracy (Pat) of Farmington, daughter-in-law Carolyn (Dan) of Cortez, CO, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents James Black Sr., and Pearl Black, husbands Forest A. Johnson, and Melvin J. Frost, son Carroll Forest Johnson, grandson Gary Forest Johnson, daughter-in-law Kathy Q. Johnson, sister Vera Fritz and brothers James Black Jr. and Robert Black.

The Johnson family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the many friends who offered love and support, with a special thanks to the Monticello 3rd Ward, and the Eastland Branch for all their help involved with the funeral services and dinner. We would also like to thank the San Juan Mortuary for the loving care they gave to Mom.
