Milton D. Rogers

Milton D. Rogers, 91, of Liberty, MO died April 21, 2012. He was born to John David & Luella May (Hurst) Rogers in Blanding, UT on May 8, 1920.
Milton is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Myers) Rogers; parents; son Joseph N. Rogers; and brother Arthur H. Rogers.
His survivors include a sister, Helen R. Redd; children David J. (Sandy) Rogers, Charles M (Christine) Rogers, Sally (Bruce) Walker, Melissa (David) Jones, Cynthia Rogers, Jennifer (Paul) Jury, Kimberly (Steve) Williams, James A. (Kathy) Rogers, Samuel G. (Cathy) Rogers, Thomas M. Rogers and Daniel C. (Michelle) Rogers; 36 grandchildren, 18 grand-in-laws and 46 great-grandchildren.
Milton was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as the first Branch President and first Bishop of the Liberty Ward, Patriarch of the Independence and Liberty Stakes, temple worker in the Dallas Temple, Sunday School and seminary teacher, and scoutmaster.
He was a member of Mic-o-say. Milton was an Army veteran of World War II, where he served as a paratrooper and forward observer. He took part in the Italian and Southern France invasions and Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the French Croix de Guerre, and had five battle stars.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 24 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1130 Clayview Drive, Liberty, MO. Burial followed at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 6600 N. Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO.
