Marvin Dee Casper


July 13, 1932 ~ July 30, 2012
Marvin Dee Casper, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father, July 30, 2012. 
He was born July 13, 1932, in Provo, UT, to Ernest Marvin Casper and Ella Wright Casper.  His parents and only sibling, Beth Casper Carter, precede him in death.
Marvin is survived by his wife Glenalee Palmer Casper, three children, Bret Casper, Joell Casper Verduzco, Patrick Casper, and five step-children, Glen A. Monson, Laura Monson O’Donnell, Kelli Monson Lundin, Mindy Monson, Christopher Monson, and a brother-in-law-, Boyd Carter.
He has 23 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom loved and adored him.  Marvin, loved and served his family in all possible ways.
Marvin, attended public schools in Provo, UT, graduating from Provo High School. 
He enlisted and served in the US Navy for four years aboard the Wiltsie (DD-716) during the Korean War.  He received honors playing for the Navel tennis team. 
Upon returning home from the service, Marvin attended the University of Utah, and played on the university basketball team.  He transferred to Brigham Young University, graduating in business management.  He was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Company, in southern California, and later for Eyring Research in Provo, UT.
Marvin was an avid gardener, creating and sharing generously the fruits of his labor. He was a perfectionist in his work ethic, as an employer, employee, in the garden or in his workshop. He created many beautiful articles of tooled leather, which he gave as gifts to family and friends.  He had an artistic view of life around him.  He appreciated and enjoyed the Lord’s creations, lovely sunsets, flowers and wildlife all his days.
There was always a smile on his face and a song in his heart.  He loved to sing in choirs, in the garden, in the woods, on the beach, to the children, and also in barbershop groups.
Marvin, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint.  He loved his Savior and had a living testimony of His gospel. He was active in many callings throughout his life.  He served two missions, and was an ordinance worker in the St. George, and Monticello, UT Temples.
Marvin is missed greatly by those left behind, and look forward to being with him again.  We will always cherish our special memories we made with him
