Marva Jones Laws

August 10, 1920 ~ December 16, 2007

She was born August 10, 1920 to Thomas DeAlton and Anna “M” Jones.

They helped her father to raise her younger sister, LaDean, after the death of their mother in 1941. Marva and Harry raised five children, Lou Ann, Marlene, Norma, Boyd and Robert.

After the death of her husband in 1968, she began her working career. She was employed as a teacher’s aide at Park Terrace School and then moved to the San Juan District Media Center, where she was employed until her retirement in 1985.

Marva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for many years in various positions.

Marva loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new things and meeting new people although she never met a stranger. She found great pleasure in nature; she always had a “pretty rock” or a dainty flower. She loved to tie quilts and made many that she gave to family and friends.
