Marva Johnson Butler March 13, 1930 ~ March 13, 2026
Marva Johnson Butler, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 13, 2026, in American Fork, UT, after sustaining serious injuries in an unfortunate fall.
She was born August 12, 1930, in Ferron, UT, to Clement Johnson and Alice Foote Johnson.
She was born in the home of her Grandmother Foote.
She was the sixth child of seven in a family of five girls and two boys.
She grew up in a house that is still in Horsehead, UT, and attended a one-room schoolhouse with one teacher for grades 1-8.
Her family moved to town (Monticello) during her seventh-grade school year, and she finished her schooling there.
Marva married Ronald Robert (Pat) Butler on September 3, 1948.
They lived in Monticello most of their lives , where they raised their four children.
Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 29, 1971.
Marva was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was very honest, hard-working, kind and fair to others, and always wanted to help and protect her family.
She was a great example to her family, and she served and cared for them throughout her life.
She was especially loving and sweet to her grandchildren.
They all loved and cherished the times they were able to be with her. She made all of them feel special.
She crocheted an edge around hundreds of baby blankets and burp cloths for family and friends.
She enjoyed both quilting and tying quilts of all sizes. She crocheted numerous dish cloths and gave them away.
Marva was a life-long learner. She loved to read and enjoyed many books on her own as well as reading to her family.
She guided her family to good health through her attention to healthy habits and good nutrition. Of course, sweets and ice cream were an important part of her “healthy” diet.
She will be loved, remembered and admired by all who knew her.
