Lila Marie Tilley Semadeni August 30, 1933 ~ November 3, 2024

Lila Marie Tilley Semadeni, age 91, passed away of natural causes on November 3, 2024 at the home of her son, Mike, in Providence, UT.
She was born August 30, 1933 in Hitchcock, Saskatchewan, Canada to Harry and Helen Tilley. During the Great Depression, her family relocated to Port Alberni, British Columbia, where she grew up.
Lila was dedicated, a hard worker, full of faith and lived a life of service. She was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a full-time mission to the Western Canadian Mission.
She had a burning testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and took every opportunity to share it with others. She married Oscar Semadeni in the Manti Temple on April 10, 1963 and was blessed with six children. She worked many years for the San Juan School District as a lunch lady and as a bus driver.
She served 23 years as a Scout leader and was awarded the Silver Beaver. She served nearly 30 years as a cannery director. She was a volunteer EMT.
She loved the elderly and spent years visiting, feeding and advocating for them. Her example left a permanent impression on her children and many who knew her.
Lila loved family history and temple work and attended the temple monthly when she had to travel to Manti or Provo, and several times a week when the Monticello Temple was built.
She enjoyed her annual trips to Canada to visit with family and friends. She was an avid picture taker, journal keeper and letter writer and kept in touch with many people. She created many photo journals and always made personalized birthday cards.
Her final years of dementia brought her to the homes of each of her children where they had the opportunity to show her the love and respect that she had demonstrated to others throughout her life. They were blessed and continue to be blessed by this experience.
Lila is preceded in death by her husband Oscar Semadeni, her parents and all 13 of her siblings. She is survived by her six children: Tim (Heidi) Semadeni of Layton, UT, Andrew (Sharon) Semadeni of Logan, UT, Joseph (Gaylyn) Semadeni of Fairview, WY, Helen (Bryan) Lundahl of Providence, UT, Mike (Trinity) Semadeni of Providence, UT, and Ben (Amanda) Semadeni of Vernal, UT, 36 grandchildren and 17 (but rapidly increasing) great- grandchildren.
The family would like to offer a heart-felt thanks to special neighbors and friends who helped her as she aged.
Funeral services are on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Monticello North Chapel, 347 N. 200 W. in Monticello at 11 am. Viewings will be held at the church Friday November 15, from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday 9 to 10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Cedar Point Cemetery.
