Leonso Rubio

Leonso Rubio passed away at home in Monticello on the afternoon of November 7 surrounded by family.
Leonso was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on August 10, 1944 where he lived and worked with family before coming to the United States and eventually settling in Utah.
Leonso was an underground miner known for his skill and hard work. He worked in gold and uranium mines around Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada. Many may remember being trained by him in the mining craft.
When not hard at work, Leonso was known to play hard. He could often be found fishing or hunting around the region.
Leonso leaves behind a wife, three children, three grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
A viewing and Rosary were held on Tuesday, November 13, at St. Joseph’s Parish. The viewing was from 6-7 p.m. and the Rosary began at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 14 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a viewing and services at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish.
