June Annette Wolter Morrell

June Annette Wolter Morrell was born July 12, 1920 in Almo, Cassia County, ID to Mary Annette Jensen Wolter and Albertus Wolter.
As a young girl, her family lived in several California towns and cities, finally settling in Corning, California on her tenth birthday.
During her early years, the country was in a deep depression. Her family, like everyone else, had very little in the way of material things and had to make do with what they did have.
She married in 1940 and in February 1942, her son Richard was born. This marriage ended in divorce.
In August 1945, she married Frank Morrell and became the step-mother to his daughters Gail and Lola. He was a superintendent for a construction company and traveled a lot on different jobs.
June always accompanied him and they were never apart for more than a month or two. In February 1953, her son Franklin was born. Frank adopted Richard when he was five years old. Richard married several times and became the father of Dana by his first wife and Tiffany by his second wife. Both of these marriages ended in divorce and the family had no contact with them for many years. They later reconnected and June was able to spend time with both girls.
Franklin, and his wife Sue, live between Blanding and Monticello. Both of their sons graduated from Monticello High School and they have been a very special part of June’s life. Both boys are married with families of their own.
Michael has two children and Christopher has three children. Christopher graduated from West Point. June has always been proud of both of these boys and their accomplishments. They had lots of fun times together while they were growing up.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, June was called to serve a one- year mission at the age of 70 in the California Sacramento Mission. She served in her home town of Corning for five months.
She taught a primary class of 10 and 11 year old girls when she moved to Blanding and formed a strong lifelong bond with all of them: Kristen Bayles, LeeAnn Lyman, Christy Howell, Valerie Shepherd, Stacy Guymon, and Kate Hurst.
June is known to everyone as June, Aunt June, Grandma June, or Sister Morrell. She served faithfully in her church callings and had a deep and abiding testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband Frank and son Richard predeceased her. She passed away in her home on May 13, 2014 at the age of 93. Funeral services were held on May 19, 2014. She is laid to rest in the Blanding Cemetery.
