Jose I. Garcia

July 5, 1952 ~ February 8, 2012
Jose I. Garcia was born to Telesfora Garcia (Chacon) on July 5, 1952 in Monticello, UT. He passed away peacefully at home February 8, 2012.
Jose was well known for his hard work and dedication, also for his contagious laughter and crazy sense of humor.
He worked in construction, running a hot plant for quite some time along with building homes and fences in Montezuma Canyon.
Jose married Cordie Arellano in April, 1973. Together they had three children: Renee’, Tami and Paco. The family explored the mountains while Jose was a ranger for the Forest Service.
Jose and Cordie raised their children to love, share, be kind to others, and work hard in all they did. In 1987 they separated and later divorced. However, they remained good friends.
Jose loved making people laugh, listening to music, hiking, and spending time with his mother, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He had a special talent for making dreamcatchers and creative leatherwork.
His laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
Jose touched so many lives and made so many people laugh when only grey skies hovered over them.
He is survived by his mother, Telesfora Chacon; sister June (Lorenzo) Rubio; brothers Ernie (Marsha), Miguel and Hernan Garcia; children Renee’, Tami, Paco (RoseAnne Benavidez) Garcia; grandchildren Roxanne (Jake), Veronica, Jonathon, Teresa, Miguel, Antonio, and Isaac Garcia, Melanie Medrano, and Tanisha Keith (Robert Martinez); and great-granchildren Anna Rosa Rodriquez and Robert Ezekiel Martinez; as well as numerous other family.
He is preceeded in death by his father, Cosme Chacon.
