John Wilson “Jack” Redd II

John Wilson “Jack” Redd II, 79 of Cave Creek, AZ passed away on September 1, 2010 at his home after a long illness.
He was born September 10, 1930 in Monticello, UT, the son of John Wilson and Helen P. Redd. He is the oldest of four siblings.
He graduated from Monticello High School in 1948. He attended one year at Utah Agricultural College. Then he served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1953 as a Sergeant in the Artillery.
After an honorable discharge, he was employed in various jobs, including the Vanadium Corp of America and Utah Oil Company.
In 1960, he was able to begin in the livestock business in Monticello, which was his lifelong passion. He was able to manage his operation for over 50 years until he passed.
He married Virginia Adams on November 6, 1954 in Blanding, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Adams; a son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Tracie Redd of Alamo, CA; grandchildren Makay and Chase Redd of Alamo, CA; sisters Kathleen (the late Robert B.) Fox of Bountiful, UT, Cherry (Daniel) Circelli of Washington, UT) and Maris (Kenneth) Bischoff of Ogden, UT.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen, and his son, William Makay “Bill” Redd.
The funeral was held on Thursday, September 9, 2010. Interment in the Monticello City Cemetery.
