John McDonald

January 4, 1916 ~ April 30, 2008

Born of goodly parents in Heber City, Utah, January 4, 1916, to Andrew and Elizabeth Ann Thatcher McDonald, John Elmo McDonald died April 30, 2008.

John grew up a cowboy on a small cattle ranch and was educated in the public schools of Heber City.

In 1939 he graduated from Utah Agricultural College with a degree in forestry. He received his Master’s Degree from the same institution in 1946.

He married Lillian Fern Munk in 1938, in the Logan LDS Temple. John is survived by his wife Lillian, son, two daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Branch President, Bishop, missionary and temple worker.

John worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 20 years, working in Blanding, Monticello, and Duchesne, UT, and John Day, and Lakeview, OR. John then worked for 24 years as general manager of Lakeview Lumber Products.

Funeral Services were May 5, 2008 in Spanish Fork, UT. Interment in the Heber City Cemetery.
