JOANN BLEAK HELQUIST WILCOX October 7, 1935 ~ May 23, 2020

JoAnn Bleak Helquist Wilcox was born October 7, 1935 in Fort Thomas, AZ to Charles and Irene Bleak. She was the third child of five, with three brothers and a sister.
As a young girl, her family moved around for work. They lived in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Utah. They spent time picking apples, cherries, and cotton at these places
They eventually ended up staying in Blanding, working for the uranium mine. This was where she met her first husband, Maurice “Buck” Helquist. They were married May 3, 1952.
They had five children, three beautiful daughters and two sons. They lived and raised their family in Blanding. She babysat, worked for the school district as a cook, then at social services. The couple was divorced in 1975.
JoAnn relocated to Salt Lake City where she met and married Jerome Wilcox. They were married for 39 very happy years. They were married on May 23, 1981, and she passed away 39 years later on May 23, 2020.
JoAnn and Jerry lived in several different places, finally settling in St. George, UT for 19 years.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband Jerry; children Marica, Milt, Linda, Diana, and Larrry; brother Jim; sister LaVerne; 24 grandchildren; 79 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Aurther and Floyd, son-in-law Bruce Johnson, grandson Eric Johnson, and great-grandson Tate Spencer.
