James “Jimbo” Cason

1955 ~ 2012
James “Jimbo” Carston Cason passed away at his residence in Independence, KY at the age of 57.
He was the beloved son of James C. Cason and Annalene Cason, born on August 1, 1955 at Ft. Wright, KY.
He graduated from Simon Kenton High School, and he went to Edwards and Vale, CO where he called home for 39 years.
After working for the FBI, he established Cason Masonry & Construction, operating it for 35 years.
He was known for honesty and integrity, always ready to reach a helping hand to those in need. He was loved and respected by those who knew him. The Vale Colorado News printed a front page spread of his life entitled “Jimbo Cason Rocks the Valley.”
He was well known as a great hunter, with trophies for some of the largest bear and elk captured in the USA. He was known far and wide for his vast collection of antique traps and Indian artifacts.
He lived east of Monticello, UT at his Edge of the Canyon Ranch for many years before he moved due to health problems. He worked and made many friends in the Four Corners area.
He is sadly missed by three sons, Caley Cason, Forrest Cason and Tucker Cason, all of Boulder, CO; mother Annalene Cason Vargas; sister Cindy Ann Cahill (Greg); three brothers, Joel C. Cason (Brenda), Jack C. Cason (fiancé Annabell), and Jonathan C. Cason; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service took place on August 12, 2012. Memorial donations are requested in lieu of flowers to Banklick Christian Church, 4150 Madison Pike, Covington, KY. 41017-9520.
