Geraldene (Gerry) R. Randall

March 1, 1918 ~ May 28, 2008

Geraldene (Gerry) R. Randall, passed away May 28, 2008, in Monticello, Utah. Her life of 89 years was devoted to the service of family and others.

Gerry was born March 1, 1918 in Snowflake, AZ. She was the seventh child of Ralph C. and Maud R. Ramsay. In a high school home economics class she made her first patchwork quilt. That began her lifelong love of piecing quilts. She also enjoyed canning, especially jams and jellies which she liberally shared.

Gerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She received her 20-year pin for serving in the primary and twice served as Relief Society President in Monticello. Harry and Gerry also served many years in the Mesa, AZ temple. Their home in Mesa was as open to everyone, as their home in Monticello had always been.

The greatest love of Gerry’s life was her husband and family. Children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends all enjoyed spending time with her. She had an absolute, unconditional love for all of them. She would have celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary this December.

Gerry is survived by her husband, her eleven children, their spouses, 43 grandchildren, 92 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and her brother Clarence Ramsay.

She has now happily been reunited with her baby daughter, her sisters, and her parents, but will be greatly missed by the family she leaves behind.

Card of thanks

Her family would like to express appreciation for all the kindnesses, the food, the visits, the flowers, and all the love that has been expressed to them. She dearly loved Monticello and the people who live here.
