Frances Erickson

April 24, 1927 ~ June 22, 2019
On Saturday, June 22, 2019 Frances Erickson, loving and beloved mother of three, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 16, and great-great-grandmother of two, passed away at the age of 92.
Frances was born April 24, 1927 to Fredrick George and Ruth (Carter) Hillier in Salt Lake City, UT.
She married Velt G Erickson on July 7, 1949 in Rahway, NJ. They had three children: Kristine (Jack) Frost, Janean (Elery) Holden, and Malin (Peggy) Erickson.
Although she contracted Polio when she was 22, she was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Relief Society Counselor and Primary Counselor as well as working in the Relief Society as a teacher, secretary, and visiting teaching supervisor.
Frances sewed all of her children’s clothes. She loved crafts of all types including counted cross stitch, bead work, and latch hook rugs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Velt; her sister Gwendolyn; and brothers, Fred and Wayne.
She is survived by her children, Kristine, Janean and Malin; her grandchildren; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and her brothers, Ron and Robert Hillier and their spouses.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 15 from 10-11 a.m. at the Monticello LDS Stake Center, followed by a graveside service at the Monticello Cemetery.
