Faye Maxine Peterson Nielson

January 17, 1926 ~ February 9, 2008

Faye Maxine Peterson Nielson was born on January 17, 1926, in Twin Falls, ID. She passed away on February 9, 2008, in Blanding, UT.

Maxine is the daughter of Joseph Leo and Orpha Cecelia Skeem Peterson.

She married Kirk Perkins Nielson on June 18, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is the mother of seven children and had 34 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren at the time of her death.

Maxine grew up in Castleford, ID on a dairy farm in the company of her family and many loving cousins and aunts and uncles.

She and Kirk lived in Twin Falls, ID; various places in Utah; and McAllen, Texas before settling in Blanding, UT, where Kirk was owner/pharmacist of Pay Day Drug, later changed to San Juan Pharmacy.

Maxine was an active member of the LDS church all her life; holding, at one time or another, every position of leadership or teaching available.

She was also involved in school, Little League, and community support on a regular basis until declining health prohibited it.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kirk and grandson Ryan “Bubba” Nielson.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Bob Conrad; sons Dana (Marian) and Lyle (Leslie) of Blanding, UT; Lee (Randee) of South Jordan, UT; Kenneth of Las Vegas, NV; and daughters Jean (Lyman Bayles) of Mancos, CO; Susanne (David Johnson) of Blanding, UT; and Dori (Sam Eubanks) of Kearns, UT; and 66 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Maxine is remembered with much love and respect by family members, associates, and neighbors.

She was a friend to countless people whose lives she touched throughout her life.
