Eric Lyle Johnson

July 26, 1972~August 8, 2008

Eric Lyle Johnson was born on July 26, 1972, to Bruce and Marcia Johnson. He died on August 8, 2008, while doing the things he loved. He was the oldest of six children and had a special relationship with each of his siblings and his mom. He especially loved to tease his sisters and loved spending time with his father and brother.

Eric graduated from San Juan High School in 1990. He later earned his Masters Electricians license; he married Denise Smith for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on July 11, 1992. They made their home in West Jordan for four years.

They have four children- Kortney Jo (14), Devin Bruce (11), Tanner Eric (8), and Adriana Dawn (3). They moved to Blanding in December of 1996 and have enjoyed living there. He especially enjoyed their first four years here as he became closer to his father. He worked as a partner with his uncle David Johnson at Northern Electric. He earned his pilots license in 2005.

Eric loved serving the community by being on the city council. He served for five years and was very involved with the recreation and youth programs. He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed the opportunities it provided to become closer to the youth and his family.

Eric loved to hunt, golf, play baseball, ride motorcycles, scuba dive, work with the youth, and fly his plane. But the most important thing to him was his wife and children. He spent as much time with them as he could teaching them and loving them. Eric lived life to the fullest, no matter what he was doing. He is greatly loved and will truly be missed.

He is survived by his wife, four children, mother, four sisters, one brother, and two grandmothers. He is preceded in death by his father and grandfathers.

Card of thanks

How blessed our family is to live in and be part of such a compassionate community. We would like to thank all those who have sent flowers, cards, and gifts, those who stopped by and shared kind words, and most of all we would like to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts on our behalf. We have felt such an outpouring of support and love from people near and far.

We would also like to thank Danny and Patti Palmer for the wonderful work that they do and the special care they take while performing their difficult job.

Thank you again for all of your prayers in our behalf; the spirit of this community and the love of God has been felt by our whole family and helped us through this difficult time. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all of the support we have felt.
