Dottie Black Laws

Dottie Black Laws, a lifetime resident of Blanding, passed away May 31, 2010 at the age of 92, of natural causes. 
Dottie was born September 13, 1917 to David Patton and Theda Karchner Black.  Dottie had several close calls with death as she was growing up, but was spared and was able to raise a large family.
Some of her fondest memories were of the road camps where they spent their summers with her father who was a road contractor.  Her sisters and nieces were her best friends and she loved them dearly.
Dottie is survived by seven children:  Kleston Hart Laws (Judy) of Cedar City; Julene Libberton (Jim) of Roosevelt; Dorthea Davis (Darrell) of Cortez; Rhea Laws of Blanding; Asa B Laws (Paula) of Santa Fe, NM; Wm Hart Laws (Jill) of Salem, Oregon; and Val W Laws (Brenda) of Idaho Falls, ID; 59 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Hart Laws; her son Larry Keed Laws; and her daughters Wilma and Geneva Laws; one grandson, four great grandchildren, her parents, seven brothers and 13 sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, with interment at the Blanding City Cemetery.
