David Brent Houston

October 2, 1950 ~ December 24, 2006

David Brent Houston was born October 2, 1950 in Monticello, UT to Prince and Welma Houston, and spent his formative youth there.

He was a curious and ingenious child, showing an early aptitude for entrepreneurship. There are many family, and undoubtedly town, stories pertaining to this trait.

Brent, as he was called, moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 14. After high school he traveled the country extensively, eventually settling in the Phoenix, Arizona valley area.

After sampling various professions, Brent found his calling in real estate and property management. He sold, owned, and/or managed numerous properties in the Prescott, Payson, and Phoenix Valley area.

Brent unexpectedly suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage on December 3, 2006 and died without regaining consciousness on December 24, 2006.

Because his wishes were not known, Brent was cremated after his death. Recently the family has learned that Brent preferred burial.

In belated honor of his wishes, Brent’s ashes will be interred at the Monticello Cemetery with a graveside memorial on Saturday August 25, 2007 at 10 am.

Brent was a quiet, kind, gentle, and nonjudgmental man with a subtle yet beguiling sense of humor. He was always ready to help others. He was a loyal friend and a loving son, father, grandfather, and brother.

He was called from this world too soon and he is loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brent is survived by his mother Welma Williams of Arizona, brother Steven Houston also of Arizona, sisters Jeannette Poulsen and Mickey Bessonette, both of Utah, daughter Regina Strykul of Ohio and her three children, his grandchildren, Kiera, Delanie, and Arriana.
