Chloe Ann Shumway

April 19, 1934 ~ October 24, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Chloe Ann Shumway announce her passing after a brief illness, on October 24, 2018.
Chloe Ann was born on April 19, 1934 to Clarence and Myrtle Perkins. She was the oldest of nine children.
Chloe Ann had a good childhood exploring the mountains on horseback, and helping her dad and uncles herd cows.
She loved bonfires, movies in the basement of the old church, town dances, rodeos, playing softball, hanging out with Maxine Christensen, and she liked Kenny Shumway.
Chloe Ann and Kenny were married on January 20, 1951. They spent four years living in Coronado, CA, where Kenny served in the United States Navy. On July 16, 1956, they were sealed in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Soon after they moved home, they started their family. Kenny and Chloe Ann adopted and raise five children. They spent a lot of time out doors with their kids, camping, hunting, and looking for arrowheads. They were good parents.
Chloe Ann is preceded in death by two brothers, Tony Perkins and Tim Perkins. She is survived by five sisters and a brother, Gaylene Hurst, Bonnie Petty, Susie Boland, Trudy Latham, Leila Jones, and Corey Perkins.
Chloe Ann will be forever remembered by her children, Timi (Michael) Butt, Charlie Bayles, Lindsey Shumway, Jordan (Mary) Shumway, and Wiggins (Jackie) Shumway, by 24 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by both family and friends.
The family would like to thank those who have shown kindness and friendship towards their mother. With special appreciation to the women (HHA’s) who lovely took care of her on a daily basis until her death.
Funeral services were November 2, 2018, in the Blanding Stake Center.
