Chad H Perkins

September 26, 1956 ~ March 22, 2021

Our brother, Chad Helquist Perkins, passed away peacefully in his home in Blanding on March 22, 2021. Chad was the fifth of six children born to Carl Bayles and Bernice Helquist Perkins. His brothers and sisters are Sheila Mortensen, Sandy Brown, Anne Howell, Monty Perkins, and Heidi Pilling.

Chad married Helen Danell Palmer on November 25, 1974. He and Danell were blessed with four children Kylor Chad (Misty) Perkins, Karly Chanell (Eric) Halls, Megan Anne (Tristen) Shumway, Nicole (Slade) Perkins; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Chad started his work history working in the uranium mines around Blanding. A short time later he had the opportunity to work with Vance Seely learning masonry as a trade. Chad took great pride in his work as a mason.

The family moved to Arizona while he continued his trade for several years. They returned to Blanding where Chad eventually worked for the city. He finished his career working for White Mesa Mill.

We learned early that Chad was a natural athlete. He never left home without a ball and a bat. He was outstanding at baseball, basketball, and later golf. Chad’s siblings remember he got out of a lot of work because he always had a ball game or practice. Our family had many good times following his games.

Chad had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Chad was also a kind person to everyone he came in contact with. His contagious smile will be greatly missed!!
