Carol Janet Fullmer Black

April 20, 1935 ~ March 16, 2013
Carol Janet Fullmer Black died peacefully at her home in Clinton of natural causes on March 16, 2013. She was born as a twin with her brother, Clark, on April 20, 1935, to Frank and Eloise Fullmer in Salt Lake City, UT.
Her early childhood was spent in Hunter before moving to Monticello where she attended school and graduated from Monticello High School.
There she met Oren Ramon Black from Blanding at the uranium mine where they both worked.
They were married on March 21, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and eventually had two sons and three daughters.
They lived in various states including Alabama, California, Nevada, Oregon and Utah, primarily in Blanding and Kaysville.
Carol lived a very healthy lifestyle and ran or walked daily, tidying up the neighborhood wherever she went. She would stay each week after church and pick up the chapel after everyone left.
She took great pride in her appearance and surroundings, keeping things very clean and organized. She couldn’t go anywhere without pulling a weed and cleaning up her surroundings wherever she was.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making fresh baked bread and soups. Carol was always willing to serve others by providing meals and comfort to those that were in need or sick.
She loved to play with her young grandchildren and chase and tickle them. She was very self-sufficient and constantly working on being prepared. She served in many different callings in church, but her favorites were nursery leader and chorister.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon (1991); parents; and brother, Clark. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Jimmy) Blake, Kerry, Kurt (Tami), Melinda (Chris) Jones, and Deboni; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters and two brothers.
