Carmen Black Cochran

Carmen Black was born June 22, 1931, in Mink Creek, Idaho.
She was the first of six children born to Zenos L. Black and Ellen Jensen Black.
The family moved to Monticello when Carmen was in sixth grade.
They later moved to Blanding. Carmen was valedictorian of her San Juan High class. She then attended the University of Utah where she earned a degree in education.
Carmen returned to Blanding to teach, and there met Neldon G. Cochran. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, and have loved, supported, and cared for each other and their family for more than 54 years.
Carmen was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She has had numerous callings in all the auxiliaries, and loved the opportunities she had to serve. She especially cherished the years that she and Neldon worked in the Monticello Temple.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda Rae Gray; and her brother, Joseph Lynn Black.
She is survived by her husband, Neldon; her children: Rebecca, Bruce (Karen), Robert (Christine), Jerry (Jodi), Steven (Sheri), Corry (Heidi); 15 grandchildren (and one on the way) and 11 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); two sisters: Zenna Anne Apple (Bill) and Aleene B. Nielson (Tom); a brother: James L. Black (Barbara); and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
