Beverly Fern Stroud

Beverly Fern Stroud passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Craig General Hospital, in Vinita, OK, at the age of 82.
The daughter of Wilford Hyrum and Lenore (Wilson) Christensen was born July 5, 1928, in Moab, UT. She attended Monticello public schools, graduating in 1946.
After graduation, she began a family with her first husband, Jesse McAlister. After their divorce, she was romanced by local business man Lee Stroud. They were married December 27, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV.
The next few years took the family to Kanab, UT; Page, AZ; and finally to Chelsea in 1963. She soon became an active part of the community. She owned and operated Clara’s Dress Shop, Stroud Insurance and Real Estate, while Lee ran the Jiffy Mart.
She also belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Her hobbies included traveling and raising horses, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Lenora; sisters Rowena Hayes, Bonnie Dallas, and Donna Loveridge.
Survivors include her husband Lee, of Vinita, OK; son Jim McAlister, of Broken Arrow; daughters Leslie Wojcik and husband, Tony, of Blanding, UT; and Shelly Kohler and husband Steve of Vinita; grandchildren Jaime McKay and husband Marcus; Kyle McAlister; Patrick McAlister and wife Lyndsey; Jennifer Knight and husband Zack; Tyler Wojcik and wife Stacy; Summer Ivins and husband David; Rye Wojcik and wife Dawnan; Heather Willets and husband Eddie; Stephanie Tillman and husband Derick; and Leslie Shoemaker and husband Shawn; and great-grandchildren Shelbie McKay, Colton Wojcik, Kinley Wojcik, Wren Wojcik; Andrew, Ameila, and Bonnie Willets; Anna, Allison, and Audrey Tillman; Hayden and Lydia Shoemaker; Javen, Taylor, Porter, and Keaton Ivins; and Keller Case.
Funeral service for Beverly Fern Stroud were held Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Burial followed at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home and Crematory.
